Melinda Garvey, Founder, Voice and Office Wine Supplier
The launch of the OnTheDot newsletter in April 2016 was not Melinda’s first foray into the publishing world. Nearly 14 years ago, she gave birth to her first child, Austin Woman magazine, then six years later to her human child, Beckom. Now it’s back to diapers and sleepless nights with this new baby, OnTheDot. Motherhood, in all its forms, suits her just fine.
In Her Words: “The enemy of great is perfection”
Christopher (Kip) Garvey, Co-founder and Unicorn Whisperer
A native New Zealander, Christopher can most often be found perfecting all things On The Dot—from working on the back end of the website to setting up the newsletter’s makeshift home audio recording studio, (a.k.a the master bedroom closet), to doling out supportive words of encouragement to his wife, Melinda.
In His Words: “No Worries, You can always figure it out if you try hard enough.”
Chantal Rice, Editor-in-Chief and Self-Proclaimed Grammar Snob
While she’s been a working writer, editor and journalist for more than 20 years, Chantal usually likes to be found in the kitchen, cooking up her favorite Paleo recipes, as well as couch snuggling with her boyfriend and big-eyed kitty cat, planning for her next excursion to the beach.
Sarah Ashlock, Writer and Storytelling Enthusiast
Considering she’s a freelance writer and editor dedicated to telling women’s stories, you’d never believe Sarah struggled to compose this bio! But she’s all about full disclosure. That, and sipping cheap wine, binge-watching the “strong female lead” category on Netflix, swaying to live indie music and curating her bucket list. When she’s not writing she’s tweeting @Sarah_Ashlock.
In Her Words: Live wildly & love fiercely.
Terri McCormick, Audio Tech and Make-It-Sound-Good-Girl
Just call her DJ. Terri has spent most her 35-plus-year radio career as an on-air personality and music programmer. Most recently, that meant as part of the uber-popular Majic Morning Show on KKMJ-FM/Majic 95.5.
April Cumming, Associate Editor and I-Can-Make-This-Happen Manager
When she’s not pursuing her passion for writing and editing, April is always running…to get coffee. She does hit the trail occasionally, in addition to paddle boarding, practicing hot yoga or, more importantly, playing tug-of-war with her corgi Moe.
In Her Words: “Dream it. Plan it. Do it.”
